PETER BULLOCK includes
materials such as candy wrappers, postage stamps, and foreign currency
in his paintings, separating the items by color and enhancing them with
oils.
The
resulting paintings can be viewed on a number of levels: as the total
interplay of form and color; as the interaction of elements and textural
values within the painting; and at the most intimate voyeur level as
the incorporated objects themselves.
This juxtaposition of object and art in a revised visual context creates a new paradigm of art and reality.
